10 May 2023
This award recognises FTSE100 organisations focused on innovation, re-designing policies and levelling the playing field for women and men in the workplace. The awards have been created by the INSEAD Alumni Balance in Business Initiative (BiB), in partnership with the Institute of Directors (IoD), and supported by the FTSE Women Leaders Review. The selections were judged by an expert panel drawn from the business and government community.
"We are humbled to be recognised for promoting gender balance and diversity. At Halma, we have reaped the rewards from a more gender diverse workforce in all levels of our organisation,” said Jennifer Ward, Group Talent & Communications Director at Halma. “But we’re far from done and look forward to continuing to play our part in advancing women’s empowerment and equality so our businesses and society can thrive.”
This recognition highlights Halma’s progress to improve gender diversity in our Boards and senior leadership.
Since 2014 Halma set out on the path towards improving the diversity and gender balance of its Executive Team, which at that time had no women represented. Today the Executive Team includes six women, making up 60% of the team. In addition, 50% of all our senior roles (Executive Board, Sector Chief Executives, Divisional Chief Executives) are held by women. Halma has also set targets for all its 45+ company boards to be within a 40 – 60% gender balanced range by the end of March 2024. As of 30 September 2022, we had 28% women on company boards.
“Building diverse and inclusive businesses drives performance which is why it is fundamental to achieving our purpose at Halma,” said Marc Ronchetti, Group Chief Executive at Halma. “Over the past few years we have made significant progress on gender diversity at all levels of our organisation and have worked hard to create an inclusive environment. We’re pleased that Halma’s efforts have been recognised in this way and look forward to continuing to champion equality for women across our businesses.”
